Beryl Ray Criswell, 93, passed away on August 13, 2009 at the Brush Hospital. He was born February 21, 1916 in Wray, Colorado to Silas Cloyd and Florence Ward Criswell. On February 19, 1937 he married Mary Mildred Boltjes in St. Francis, Kansas. He farmed and ranched in Yuma, Morgan and Weld counties nearly all his life.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Akron; daughters, Betty Smythe of Colorado Springs, Goldie Klingenberg of Greeley; sons, Dale Criswell and wife Pat of Otis, and Garry Criswell and wife Judy of Nunn; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Criswell; son, Melvin Criswell; daughter, Shirley Powers; granddaughter, Shannon Criswell; and great-great-grandson, Gage Richardson.
Graveside services were held Monday, August 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Otis Cemetery in Otis, Colorado. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
