Brent Duane Highland, 60, of Linn Creek, MO, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024. He was born July 24, 1964 to Roger and Elnora Highland.
He is survived by his loving wife, Amy Highland, with whom he shared 20 wonderful years of marriage, and his son Camron Highland, along with sister Brendi Navratil and brother- in-law Mike Navratil and let's not forget his loyal pets Gracie, Izzy, Ollie and Loki.
Brent was a beloved husband, father and brother, who left us far too soon. Brent retired after nearly 30 years of dedicated service, having spent the majority of his career as a Software Engineer, before leaving the majestic Colorado mountains to settle by the serene shores of Lake of the Ozarks.
Though his retirement was meant to be a time of relaxation, Brent was just beginning to embrace the joys of life on the water, finding thrill and joy in boating and jet skiing. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his love for animals, often stopping traffic to rescue turtles or any creature in need. His compassion extended to all living things, whether it was tending to his beloved fish aquariums or going on walks searching for wildlife.
A true adventurist at heart, he had a passion for Jeeps and spent countless hours four-wheeling the rugged terrains throughout Colorado and Moab. Brent had an adventurous spirit, always eager to explore new places. A lover of travel, he embraced each opportunity to experience new cultures and landscapes.
Brent will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memories live on in the heart of those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roger and Elnora Highland, grandparents Randall and Marie Ross and Aladean and Kenneth Cole.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Akron Cemetery.
