Obituary

Carol Josh was welcomed into her heavenly home on October 21, 2019 at the young age of 64.  Carol began her earthly journey in Wray, CO on September 17, 1955.  She was welcomed by parents Harold and Dorothy Polly (Mathies) and brother Daniel.  She soon became an older sister to Dale and was later excited to become an older sister to Cathy. (Whom she proudly came up with Cathy's second name- Cathy Polly.)

Carol attended school in Akron, CO.  She was baptized on August 6, 1969 and confirmed March 22, 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church.  After graduating High School, she married the love of her life, Daryl Josh.  They were married on August 10, 1975 at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Daryl and Carol settled in Yuma, CO where they had a precious baby girl, Tiffini, and the Josh family was made complete with their rambunctious son, Jared. Carol was soon challenged with having eyes in the back of her head and being a marathon runner as Jared kept her on a new adventure every day! Carol did a great job raising her two children and Daryl.

Carol held various jobs in the Yuma area.  She worked for DEKALB picking corn for research, and at Montgomery Ward in sales.  She enjoyed working at Boughman's Bakery and learning how to make the pastries and donuts.  She was employed at Yuma Life Care as a housekeeper then a cook.  Carol worked at Yuma Home Improvement where she helped people pick out carpeting, tiles, and curtains which she enjoyed.  She continued her passion as a cook with Dorothy Eastin's Catering and developing close lifelong friendships with Lynetta Day and Teresa Imhof.  She belonged to Yuma Jaycee-etts, Pleasant Valley Ladies Aid, and was a Cub Scout den mother.  The next adventure in Daryl and Carol's life was when they moved to Smith Center, KS to manage Ingleboro Bed & Breakfast and live closer to their daughter's family.  One of her favorite things to do at Ingleboro was to cook crepes for breakfast.  They transitioned back to Akron and worked side by side as they owned and managed Cornerstone Coffee for nine years. Carol also had a natural gift of serving others and was a caregiver to several relatives throughout her life.  Carol's passions were in her creative talents and spending time with her grandchildren.  Carol loved to bake, prepare meals for family and friends, paint, create flower arrangements, and various other crafts. Carol loved the Lord.

Carol Josh was preceded in death by her father, Harold Polly; stepfather Glenn "Pete" Spear; grandparents Joseph and Katherine (Trunde) Mathies and Virgil and Hattie (Newton) Polly.

Carol Josh is survived by her husband, Daryl Josh; daughter Tiffini(Josh) Gross and husband Jason and grandchildren Treylan and Trinitti; son Jared Josh and granddaughter Ashtyn; mother Dorothy  (Mathies) (Polly) Spear; brother Dan Polly; brother Dale Polly and wife Kathy; sister Cathy Heimann and husband Ron; special sisters Lynetta Day and Teresa Imhof; along with many beloved extended family members and friends.
