Obituary

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Colby Allen Dracon, who left this world far too soon on August 1, 2025, at the age of 22.

Colby was born January 22, 2003 in Sterling Colorado, to Joel and Michelle Dracon.

Colby was a young man of quiet strength and uncommon creativity. Colby found honest pride in hard work, but it was through his hands that his soul spoke most clearly. He shaped metal not just with skill, but with imagination. Old tools, discarded scrap, and rusted hardware became something more in his grasp.

Adventurous at heart, he never shied away from a challenge or a thrill, always chasing life at full throttle. He loved riding his dirt bike and jumping high in the air.

Colby was a soul unlike any other—creative, daring, and endlessly curious. From a young age, he carved his own path in life, never content to simply follow the crowd. He walked to the beat of his own drum, guided by instinct, imagination, and an unwavering sense of self.

He was known for his sharp wit and unfiltered humor, often catching people off guard with a perfectly timed remark. Beneath that bold exterior was someone who was deeply thoughtful while quietly remembering the stories and milestones that mattered most to the people around him.

Colby found peace and purpose in the great outdoors. Whether it was hunting birds in all sorts of weather or casting a line at dawn, he was at home surrounded by trees, fresh air, and the simplicity of nature. Those who knew him could always count on hearing a good story—or three—when he returned from his many hunting or fishing adventures.

He leaves behind family and friends who loved him deeply and will miss his bold spirit, big laugh, and the uncommon way he made the world more interesting just by being in it.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Foursquare Church of Akron.  Memorial donations may be made to the Washington County 4H Shooting Sports.  In honor of Colby's favorite color, and in Greek tradition, the family has requested you wear blue to his Celebration of Life.
