Connie Lee Dannar Jr. 83 of Akron passed away at his home on Tuesday June 9th, 2009.
Connie was born May 16th 1926 to Connie & Christina Glendy Dannar in Crawford Nebraska. He was the fourth of seven children. When Connie was three years old his family moved from Nebraska to Colorado making their home North of Akron.
Growing up, Connie and his brother Harry were well known for breaking horses. At 19 he served in the United States Army. In the Army he drove an ambulance while stationed in the Philippines and later served in the motor pool.
Upon returning home to Akron Connie went back to breaking horses and working on area farms. He also started Dannar Septic Service.
In the year 1950 Connie met Norma Jean Elliott and knew his life was about to change. On July 23rd 1950 they were married at the Akron Foursquare Church. With this union they were blessed with three children: Karen Lynn, Daniel Duane and Dennis Dwight.
Connie was an active member of the Akron Foursquare Church serving on the church council as well as being a church elder and working with the men's ministry. His favorite past times were going camping, riding his motorcycle, taking jeep trips, and playing his guitar and mandolin.
Connie was preceded in death by his wife Norma, his parents, two brothers Earl and Harry Dannar and one sister Hazel Cedar.
Connie is greatly missed by his family: Karen and Mike Wells of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Dan and Linda Dannar and Dennis and Lewanna Dannar of Akron, CO. Sister Pearl Kassahn and brother Veryl Dannar of Hemingford, Nebraska and Sister Velma and Bill Bruns of Phillipsburg, Montana. Grand Children and great grand children: Michael Shawn Wells and wife April and their children Derek, Brandon and Lauren; Stephanie Sipes and children Gabriel, McKenzie and Madison; Aaron Wells and wife Dawn and their children Shaylin, Cameron and Ashtyn; D. J. Dannar and children Jasmine and Jorja; Christina Peterson and husband Eric and their daughter Sadie; Stephanie Reinke and daughters Faith, Destiny and Hope; Darin Dannar; Tiffany Dannar and children Aspen and Ivan.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 12, 2009 at Akron Foursquare Church. Interment followed at Akron Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Akron Foursquare Men's Ministry. Brenner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
