Dale Schmidt was born May 16, 1926 in Akron, Colorado. He passed away May 29, 2012 at the age of 86. Dale was in the Army from June 1951 to May 1953 and was based in Germany. He married Ethel Claire Markham on May 16, 1954. They were married for 37 years before her passing in 1991. They lived on the homestead where Dale was born and raised, and owned. He loved every minute working on the farm, raising cattle, and growing wheat.
Dale is survived by his sister Lauretta Corbin of Auburn, Washington, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Hazel, his wife Ethel Claire, his sister Eunice Hansen, his brothers Floyd, John, Eldon, James, and an infant brother.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 1, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church of Akron. Interment will follow at the Akron Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Akron, the Akron & Otis Veterans' Posts, or to the Salvation Army, 1930 Sherman St. Denver, CO. Brenner Funeral Home in Akron was in charge of arrangements.
