David Allen Preston, 62 of Akron, passed away on January 12, 2019 at the Washington County Nursing Home.  David Allen Preston was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 7, 1956. As he always said, he was raised in Illinois, but grew up in Fort Collins, CO.

He was united in marriage to Susan Carol Heater on October 13, 1973.  To this union, three children were born: Scott, Brandon, and Scott.

After spending time in the US Navy, he returned to Colorado to raise his family.  He worked as a draftsman before continuing school for IT, using his love for computers to start a career working for the City of Fort Collins.

After Sue's retirement, they moved to Akron until Sue passed away in 2007.  After her passing, he spent time living with his son and grandson, Lydon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sue, his son Brett, Sue's parents Opal and Elmer Heater.

He is survived by his sons Scott Preston of Akron, Brandon (Jen) Preston of Windsor, grandchildren Liliah Preston of Golden, Lydon Preston of Akron, Jayden and Ava Preston of Windsor.

Dave was cremated according to his wishes, and a service will be scheduled in the future.
