Dorothy Ann Ott was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania July 23 rd , 1943, to parents Edward Joseph and Ruth Hildegard Smigiel. She passed away to be with the Lord on May 28 th , 2022. Dorothy was a nurse's aide for the Saint Benedicts Priory in Pittsburgh for over 20 years. She moved to Akron to live with her daughter Connie and son in law Robin, in March of 2019. Although she only spent 3 and a half years in Akron, she came to love the people and the community as her hometown. She spent her last year living in the Washington County "Green House" She made many friends living there to include all the staff. They nicknamed her "Trouble" because she was always getting into or causing some kind of shenanigans. Dorothy loved her grandkids, yellow roses, working outside, planting flowers and hummingbirds. She often stated that living on the eastern plains seeing a hummingbird was like trying to find a pot of gold under a rainbow. Preceding Dorothy in death was her husband of 36 years Adam Leo Ott. Her parents Edward and Ruth, and brother Joey. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Connie and husband Robin Rhea of Akron, daughter Amy and husband Michael Schrier of Pittsburgh, and their children Eliana, Eden, and Alex; her brothers Edward (MaryKay) Smigiel of Pittsburgh, Ray (Lillis) Smigiel and their daughter Deanna of Michigan, James (Fran) Smigiel and their children Michael and Stephanie of Oregon; and her sister Mary (Walt) Cioc and their children Steven and Ashley of Pittsburgh.
