Edith Hussey, age 67, of Anton, Colorado passed away May 6, 2021. She was born on January 3, 1954 in Idar-Oberstein, Germany to Hildegard and Rudolf Maerker. She married Allen Hussey on September 3, 1976. They met while Allen was stationed in Germany serving in the United States Army. In 1989 they moved back stateside to the family farm, where Edie would live for the rest of her life. She loved the quiet solitude of farm life. Edie was a fiery spirit whose quick wit could make anyone laugh. She was loved by her friends and neighbors, and always had time for a chat. She is survived in death by her husband Allen; her children Jennifer Marie, Marc and his partner Brady, Jennifer and her husband John, and Raymond and his wife Chrissy; her grandchildren Levi, Cheyenne, JJ, Wyatt, Danielle, Kiari, Jeremy and James; as well as great-grandchildren. She was very well loved during her life and will be greatly missed by us all. A memorial service will be held at the Southwest Washington County Fire Hall in Anton, CO on May 22, 2021 at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the Southwest Washington County Fire Department.
