Obituary

Gary Eugene Wells was born during a spring blizzard on March 23, 1957 at Akron, CO, third son of William and Sidney Wells. He passed away on February 22, 2011 at Brush, CO.
He was baptized as an infant and became a member of the First Presbyterian Church while in Junior High.
Gary attended elementary and high school in Akron and graduated with the class of 1975.
Gary was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout, earning the Life Scout Badge. He also was elected into the Order of the Arrow. He went to Boy Scout Camp at Ben-Delatour for several summer camps.
On August 23, 1975 he was united in marriage to Kathy Lee Dickson at the Methodist Church in Akron. Two sons were born to this union, Joshua Eugene and Jeremy Allen.
As a child, many fun times were spent at his Krause grandparent's farm. Sometimes his brothers joined him in the fun. During one of those times, he and his older brothers, Tony and Mark, put their younger brother, Kirk, in a bucket with a rope tied to the handle and put him out of a window in the hay loft of the barn. Part way down, the rope broke and dropped the bucket with Kirk inside, scaring Grandpa to the point of knocking heads.
Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping at the lake with Kathy and being outdoors. His prize hunt was in getting a moose on one of his fall hunts. His greatest passion was rock and arrowhead hunting. He had a large collection of arrows he found, and made pictures out of arrows and pieces.
Gary and Angela Sherman were married on December 22, 2009 in Akron and made their home there.
At the time of death, Gary was employed by the Colorado Department of Transportation and had recently received his 15-year pin.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife Kathy, grandparents Glen and Mary Krause, and OB and Maude Wells. He is survived by his wife Angela, sons Josh and wife Beth, and Jeremy and wife Kim, grandsons Josh, Isaac, Peyton, and Carter, granddaughter Julie, parents William and Sidney, brothers Tony and wife Marta, Mark and wife Natalie, Kirk and wife Diane, step-children Stevie, Derek, and Alec, and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A memorial service was held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Akron Foursquare Church. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the charity of the donor's choice. Brenner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
