Obituary

Gwyneth Lea Rogers was born on December 15, 1929 to Bernard Leroy and Eva Cretus Greer in Akron, Colorado at Mrs. Anderson's. On the evening of December 30, 2020, she moved to heaven.  She was the oldest of four children and the big sister of Harold, Ross and Shirley.

Gwyneth attended a country school north and east of the Washington County baseline off of Highway 63.  In the 1930's when the family lived on the Resler Ranch grandpa Davisson worked on a bridge south of Brush.  Gwyneth contracted dust pneumonia and was hospitalized in the Brush Hospital.  At one point the family lived down by Last Chance, Colorado and she attended school east of Last Chance.  Later they lived north of Colorado Springs where she attended school before moving to the Black Forest.  She graduated from the 8th grade at Table Rock.  Gwyneth started high school at Monument and attended there for six weeks before the family moved back to the Akron area.  She graduated from Akron High School in 1947.

Gwyneth met a Kansas man Keith Rogers who was working on a neighboring farm.  They were married on December 5, 1948 at the Methodist parsonage in Akron.  Gwyneth and Keith had two children.  Denise (Stephen) Rogers Piel was born in April 1958.  Byron (Debbie) was born in February 1961.

Gwyneth was a lifetime member of Alpha Nu Sorority.  For several years she served on the Easter Seals board of directors in Sterling, Colorado.  She enjoyed traveling with Keith to watch her grandchildren Robby Rogers, Tess Rogers, Braden Piel and Meghan Lowe participate in football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling and baseball. Gwyneth was an avid reader and was a frequent patron of the Akron Library.  Gwyneth enjoyed shopping with Denise and traveling to games and visiting out of state family.  Those days were filled with joking and lots of laughter. She loved going out to the farm to see Byron, Jake the donkey and the cows.

Gwyneth adored her seven great grandchildren Tobin, Calla and Rush Rogers; Addilyn and Kinsley Piel; and Keith and Tyson Lowe.

Gwyneth was preceded in death by her husband Keith, her parents, her brothers and sisters

along with their spouses.  She is survived by her children, grandchildren and their spouses, great-grandchildren as well as her step-grandsons Daniel Campbell and Darrion Gibbs.  She is also survived by two sisters-in-law Sally Davisson of Ft. Morgan and Phyllis Rogers Miller of Wichita, KS along with several cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Due to COVID 19 a private family service was held on Monday January 4, 2021 at the Akron Methodist Church.  Private inurnment will be at a later date in Akron.
