Janie "Ruthie" Cordova

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janie "Ruthie" Cordova, age 68 of Akron, who left us peacefully on October 13, 2026, in Brush, Colorado. Born on August 6, 1958, the second child of Claude Cook and Janie (Martin) Cook in Farmington, Missouri, Janie grew up to be a loving wife, sister, and friend to many.

Janie dedicated her career as a receptionist in the healthcare field and was known for her warm smile and caring nature at the Akron Chiropractic Clinic. She found joy in her work and made lasting connections with everyone she met.

Janie is survived by her beloved husband, James Cordova, and her sister, Debra Larson. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially for her love of dancing and bringing joy to any gathering.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Janie Cook, and sister, Junia Carter.
