Jeanette Lois Gebauer Walton, 77 of Greeley, passed away on April 2, 2018 at the North Colorado Medical Center.  Jeanette was born September 20, 1940 in Akron, CO to Louis and Velma (Ireland) Gebauer.  She attended the Washington County schools and graduated from Akron High School in 1958.  She grew up on the family farm southwest of Akron with her brother David and sisters Charlotte and Mary.

She married Dick Walton on June 12, 1958 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Akron.  Until Dick was discharged from the US Navy in 1959, she lived in Akron and Virginia Beach, VA.  Their first child, Victoria, was born while they resided in Akron.  In October 1960, the family moved to Johnstown, CO.  While living in Johnstown, their daughter Mary Lee, and sons Larry L. and Eric were born.

Jeanette's husband Dick died in 1988.  In 2003, she sold the family home in Johnstown and purchased one in Greeley, CO.  She retired in 2005 from the Weld County School District RE-5J after more than 30 years of being in the library and classrooms at Letford Elementary.  She is a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Greeley.  She loved time with her family, maintaining her home, and enjoyed the mountains.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Mary, father-in-law Delmar Walton, mother-in-law Dorothy Walton, and brother-in-law Bill Walton.

She is survived by daughter Victoria Manalabe and husband Mario and daughter Mary Lee Walton; son Larry L. and wife Monica, and son Eric.  She is also survived by granddaughters Nia Sharpe and husband Jared, Amber Manalabe,  and Jacie Walton; grandsons John, Jacob, Jarrett, and Jake Walton; great-grandson Evan Sharpe; brother David Gebauer and wife Beverly, sister Charlotte Kumor and husband Leon, brother-in-law Van Sybrandt, brother-in-law Larry A. Walton and wife Mary Lu, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Rosary/Mass will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Akron.  Interment will follow at the Akron Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Charities USA.
