Jody Lee Kogl, 57 of Akron, passed suddenly on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. He was born on August 24, 1960 to Ronald John and Ella Grace Seitz Kogl in Atwood, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald. He leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Debby; mother Ella Grace; children Aaryss, Dustin, and Devin, and step-daughter Scarlet; grandchildren Rathe, Raden, Atreyu, Aria, and Adeline; as well as his brothers and sisters Janie, Bill, Travis, Justin, and Melinda, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Jody was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who always puts his family first.
Jody will be fondly remembered for his sarcastic sense of humor and smile. As a man who started life on the wrong foot, he turned his life around and became the man who now leaves a hole in the hearts of many. He loved his motorcycles, boat, and was quite an outdoorsman. He had many hobbies; woodworking was one of his favorites. He had a knack for problem solving and he couldn't resist a chance for one more joke.
He loved his job of 30 years being an accomplished journeyman lineman. In 2003, he was hired by Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), and proudly served there until his death.
The friends and brotherhood at WAPA were dear to his heart as well. Rebuilding after natural distasters and helping people in need, he cherished the comradery and sense of purpose displayed by his fellow linemen and reveled in the daily challenges that came with the job.
He was involved with Boy Scouts of America for years. He enjoyed working with, and for, the community.
He will be missed by many and always cherished.
