Julie Ann Bradney arrived into this world on April 7, 1960 to John and Judi Schoenecker, and passed away on December 25, 2025 at her home in Akron.
From the time she was born she was a spitfire. She was always one to keep you on your toes and have a smart comment to get you with. She attended school in Akron and a couple years after moved to Wichita, Kansas. She stayed there for a few years and decided to move back.
In 1987 she met her loving husband, Mark. They met on Valentines, had their first date the 15th, were engaged by March and married by November 14, 1987. They found out that they were pregnant in January 1988. By May they knew it was twins. Mom always picked on dad because he thought baby b meant babies butt. Around 2:00am on August 21st Mom's water broke. Mom still scolded dad to this day that he took his sweet time getting out of bed. On top of that he made her walk all the way around the hospital just to get inside. They took mom back for a c-section early in the morning. At 6:30am a blue eyed blond hair boy Colin, was born screaming. 15 seconds later a blue eyed brown haired girl Emerald was born but not breathing. Mom made sure she told dad to keep an eye on Emerald. She finally took a breath and because of her 3lbs 11oz size they took Emerald by ambulance to the ICU in Denver for 10 days. Mom was so worried because she didn't want her babies to be separated. Mom and dad busted Emerald out of the hospital.
Mom and dad did anything and everything for the kids throughout the years. Unfortunately on October 5, 2003 Colin was tragically taken from them way too soon. Mom really leaned on dad for support during that time. A few years passed and mom was working at Anton Supers during this time. She met the man that would become Emerald's husband and insisted she needed to meet him. On August 8, 2009 Emerald married Michael. In May 2010 Emerald found out she was pregnant with her first grand baby. On January 5, 2011, Jade, the first granddaughter was born. She was spoiled from the start. Mom loved her jewelry and Jade also shared that addiction. Mom and dad would come down for pig jackpots and then after mom and Jade would take off and go shopping for turquoise. On July 9, 2013 Carter was born. He was just as spoiled mom buying him farm to add to his already huge collection. On March 8, 2017 Aubrey was born. Another granddaughter for mom. Aubrey and mom had a love for rocks. Everything each one of them would go they would have to pick up a new rock for their collection.
Something that mom liked to do every year was make peanut brittle and cinnamon candy. She would take it around to everyone she loved and enjoyed. People really looked forward to it every year. Her great joy every year was helping my dad with harvest. She would drive the grain cart and it was always adventurous. She would be barking out orders at Jade and Emerald driving combine. She even went as far as yelling at dad and Mitch on how to do their job. Mitch started helping dad around the farm this past year and she truly loved him. She treated him just like a son and would do anything for him and his family.
Julie was one of a kind and will be missed by so many. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Mark, daughter Emerald and Michael of Alex, Oklahoma. 3 grand babies Jade, Carter and Aubrey. Her mother Judith Schoenecker of Goddard, Kansas. Brother Tim Schoenecker of Akron. And sister Lori (Gary) Barkey of Akron along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death was her son Colin and dad John Schoenecker.
