Obituary

Linda Lucille Chabot was born in Eben Ezer Hospital, Brush Colorado on August 3, 1944.  Linda was born during WWII while her father served in the US Army.  She was proudly welcomed into her grandparents' home in Ft Morgan Colorado.  Linda's Grandpa Sagel affectionately referred to her as his "little pup" that he got to carry home from the hospital.  Linda was the third child of five born to Lydia Sagel Hoffmann and Conrad Hoffmann Jr.

During Linda's youth she grew a strong faith in Jesus that continued throughout her life.  She trusted God to take care of her worries and therefore lived a carefree life.  She was confirmed into faith at the Emanual Evangelical Church, Ft Morgan CO.

Linda started her education in a rural country school Northeast of Ft Morgan and eventually transferred to Ft Morgan schools graduating from Ft Morgan High School in 1962. Linda was active in the pep club and was a proud member of the Morgan High Singers.  She loved making friends that she kept throughout her lifetime and she always looked forward to her class reunions.  During high school, Linda met a shy, quiet farm boy named Carroll Chabot, thanks to her cousin Dave.

Linda and Carroll were married in her childhood church on August 18, 1962 in Ft Morgan.  To this union two children were born, Brett Allen in 1965 and Sharilyn Kay in 1967.  In 1969, the family moved to Yuma Colorado where they made their home until 1980 when Linda and Carroll divorced.  In Linda's younger years she cultivated many of her passions in life, including crafting, tennis, baking, gardening and becoming a talented artist.  She was extremely hardworking and held down several jobs during difficult times.

Linda learned floral design while working at Lewis floral, which was a lifelong skill she then taught others over the years.  In 1986, while employed as the store manager of 7-11, Linda was transferred to Greeley where she remained employed for many years.  Linda loved her new fast paced world that her little Ford Escort could barely keep up with.

Linda continued to work as a retail manager for several companies until finishing her employment career with 22 years at Home Depot. During her time at Home Depot, Linda earned countless awards and merits for her meticulous detail skills, sales volume and excellent customer service.  Linda was fondly referred to as the "short blind lady" as customers routinely sought her out to buy window blinds.  After threatening to retire for nearly a decade, in spring of 2020 she finally made good on that threat and moved back to Yuma, Colorado.

Linda's pride in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandson.  Linda never knew truer happiness until she was able to roll around on the floor with her grandchildren.  Fulfilling their every whim brought her unending joy.

In 2020, Linda was sadly diagnosed with a degenerative brain disorder called Primary Progressive Aphasia, a variant of Frontal Temporal Disorder.  At age 78, she was able to enjoy her final days in her home until her death on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Lydia Hoffmann, parents in law - Lottie and Harold Chabot.  First born infant sister Virginia Hoffmann, brother and sister in law - Arnold and Sharon Hoffmann; brothers in law - Delton Chabot, Ivan Chabot, Denny Chabot and sister in law - Alvina Chabot Lake.
