Obituary

Lois B. Dansdill was the first child born to Fred and Ann Bach Dansdill on January 18, 1916, in a farmhouse outside of Hillrose, Colorado. She passed away on April 15, 2017 in Brush, Colorado. Her father died unexpectedly shortly after Lois' 6th birthday. Not long after, her sister, Mildred, now deceased, was born.
The family moved to Brush, CO, living with their maternal grandmother, Christine Madsen, which allowed Ann to attend a business school in Denver on weekdays, in preparation to support her family.
When Lois was a young teenager, they moved to Akron, a town that would become her home for the rest of her life. Following graduation from Akron High School, she attended Sterling Junior College before marrying John E. Dansdill on January 13, 1934.
This union was blessed with four children: Fred C. (Joanne), E. Ann (Darrell) Gray, John E. Jr. (Carole), and Richard B. (LaVada).
Lois will be remembered for her love of family, church, and community. She was an avid reader and excellent bridge player. Her most recent community involvement was submitting the winning slogan: "Akron, small town with a big heart." In January 2017.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, John (1998) and son, Fred (1998). She is survived by her three remaining children and spouses; eight grandchildren Robert, Fred Jr., & Lon Dansdill, Clint Gray, Jeffrey, Scott, and Kim Dansdill, and Jayson Dansdill; 4 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Akron. Interment will follow at the Akron Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Akron, or to the Akron Public Library.
