Obituary

Parkyr Lee Cline was born October 22, 2015, in Brighton, CO, to Duane and Brandy Cline. On Friday, May 1, 2026, she passed away unexpectedly, along with her maternal grandparents, near Lusk, WY.

Although none of us could have imagined she'd be taking a slightly different path from us for a time, we are all so thankful and blessed to have had her here with us while we did. She brought so much joy, laughter and love to everyone whose path she crossed. She was witty, smart and oh so funny; and she was always prepared with an extra side of sass and attitude - just to shake things up.

Still, she had a side of her that was so kind and gentle. She was always checking in with family and friends, making sure they were 'okay,' letting them know she noticed and loved them. She was blessed with many extended family members, and each one felt a personal connection with her. She made sure of that.

Parkyr radiated with the love of Jesus, and she shared that with everyone around her! She truly trusted in her Savior, and had publicly acknowledged that through baptism at the First Baptist Church in Akron. She definitely had the 'Joy, Joy, Joy' down in her heart … but she couldn't contain it there!

She loved to sing and dance, and she was constantly sharing those gifts with her family, friends and anyone whom she happened to meet. There are very few who don't have at least one memory of her belting out a song with all her heart or busting a few moves, offering to teach us how we, too, could move like her!

Parkyr was involved in dance and volleyball, church youth group, the Brain Bowl and the gifted & talented program, to name a few of her social and academic activities. She was also selected by her fourth-grade class to receive the 2025/2026 Citizenship Award.

Parkyr was also a budding songwriter. She unknowingly left us all a beautiful gift of faith and hope in the lyrics of a song she wrote. She loved to spend time with friends and family, making everyone laugh, smile and feel appreciated. She shone brightly in a world that will forever be impacted by her spark.

Even though Parkyr was taken from us much sooner than we were ready, she was able to teach us so much in such a short amount of time: to laugh often, to love freely and to trust in Jesus. May we all follow her example and 'Live Like Parkyr.'

Parkyr was preceded in death by: her brother Trace Alan Alexander; grandparents - Mary Cline; Steven McDade; and Donna & Craig Gates.

Parkyr is survived by her parents - Brandy Cline (Matt) and Duane (Cathleen) Cline, all of Akron; siblings - Paislee, Maddie, Elizabeth, Grace, Michael, Allison and Avarie; aunts & uncles - Vicki Cline and James (Rachel) Cline, all of Akron, Mandy McDade of WY, and Lacey McDade (Zach) of AZ; grandfather - Arthur Cline (Linda) of Akron; cousins – Ashlee (Chris), Noah (Keila), Ashley, Brooklyn, Anthony, Delainey, Alexis, Kyle, Jonah, Colt, Callie, Nash, Jason and Brynlee.
