Petra Stevens, age 65, passed away on May 30, 2026, surrounded by family at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado.

Petra was born on December 11, 1960, in Sonnefeld, Germany, to Peter Weichold and Sieglinde Kohler. At the age of 18, she moved to the United States, where she learned the English language, built a new life, and began a career as a horse trainer in LaSalle, Colorado. Her love for animals was evident to everyone who knew her.

Determined and hardworking, Petra later pursued her dream of becoming a truck driver. She spent many years driving both over-the-road and locally, a career she truly loved. Later in life, she transitioned to public service, working for the Washington County Sheriff's Office for 16 years, and remained a dedicated employee until her passing.

Above all else, Petra was devoted to her family. She took great pride in her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them pursue their passions, whether in sports, academics, or showing livestock. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with those she loved. Petra's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Shannon Engler (Keith Engler) of Carbondale, KS, Casey English (Hannah English) of Yuma, CO, and Bo English of Sterling, CO; grandchildren, Vincent Giammanco, Bre Engler, Ty Engler, Grayson English, Gunner English, Jordan McNaney, and Ella Eastin; and her brother, Tomas Weichold. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Weichold and Sieglinde Kohler, and her son Jeremiah English.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church, 181 Weld St., Otis, Colorado, followed by a luncheon.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who offered support and condolences during this difficult time.
