Randy Lee Bone, a long-time resident of Washington County was unexpectedly called home on August 19, 2024, at the age of 57. Randy was born on May 6, 1967, to Sharon Kay Neal, and James Merlin Bone in Wichita, KS. Randy was the middle son, having two brothers Rick and Ronnie. After several moves due to being a military family, Randy met Treena Leanne Sexson in Lamar, CO. The two were married in February 1987. To that marriage came their first beautiful daughter Amanda Lee, born July 10, 1987, in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. Five years later, on July 27, 1992, they welcomed their second daughter Lacie Lynne in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
After moving a few times, Randy and Treena chose to settle in the Lonestar community to raise their daughters and have them attend the Lonestar School. The whole family quickly fell in love with the wide-open spaces of country living and gained many friends in the community over the years. Randy was the ideal family man and was always willing to help his daughters and family succeed with anything they set their sights on. Amanda and Lacie were involved in many activities throughout their school years, and Randy was always there to support it all. Whether it was sitting through hours of sports activities, attending FFA functions, or being chased out of the trailer by crazy 4-H steers, Randy was always there to support his daughters.
While growing up, at a young age Randy worked for his Uncle Roy on their family's ranch near Lamar, CO. The stories of him working on the ranch, and riding mules to move cattle are memories that we will all cherish for many years to come. It wasn't long after Randy turned 18, he found his passion for driving truck. Over the years, Randy worked for several trucking companies. From being over the road hauling livestock while the girls were young, to hauling local while the girls were in school, and recently back over the road being an owner-operator. Being an owner-operator, Randy leased onto Mercer Transportation out of Louisville, KY in April of 2018. Randy hauled flat-bed freight for Mercer and traveled coast-to-coast. Randy was a man that set high goals for himself, and his trucking career. He was recognized by Mercer for being a top ten money earner in 2022. He also had a huge love for driving nice trucks. This love led him to another goal of purchasing his brand-new, customized Peterbilt in December of 2022. Randy mentioned several times he would die in his truck, as it was something he loved so much. Randy unexpectedly passed away doing exactly what he loved.
In September of 2008 Randy was blessed with his first grandchild, Tysie Joleigh. He was beyond smitten with her, and she quickly had her papa wrapped around her finger. In October of 2009, Randy welcomed his second granddaughter, Tayah Jolynn. Randy quickly realized his world was about to revolve around princess tiaras and dress-up clothes. In September of 2022, Randy gained a son-in-law when Lacie married Grady Groshans of Paoli, CO. Randy got his wish of finally having a grandson. Sutton Chase was born on May 19, 2024, and all Randy could talk about was having a trucking buddy in the coming years. Randy was a huge supporter of the Eastern Colorado Roundup, where he got to watch Tysie and Tayah show their lambs and pigs this past July. This was one week a year you could guarantee that Randy would be home and out of the truck. Randy was always a supporter of the Eastern Colorado Roundup, and a supporter of the livestock sale. Each year, he would make sure to buy at least one animal, and bid on numerous others.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Sharon Neal and James Bone, Brother Ronnie Bone. Randy is survived by daughter Amanda Parmenter, and boyfriend Tyler Wade, daughter Lacie Groshans and husband Grady, Grandchildren, Tysie and Tayah Parmenter, and Sutton Groshans. Brother Rick Bone, Great Uncle, Ted Garcia, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at the Burdett cemetery on September 19, 2024 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Amanda Parmenter or Lacie Groshans. Donations will be used to purchase an animal and support youth at the Eastern Colorado Roundup livestock sale.
Cards may be sent to Lacie Groshans: 310 Nelson Street Paoli, CO 80746.
