Roy James Goetting, 66, of Otis, Colorado, passed away Tuesday morning, December 7, 2010 in Greeley, Colorado.
Roy was born in La Crosse, WI on March 12, 1944, to Paul and Lucy (Nagle) Goetting. He was the tenth of eleven children.
Roy spent most of his life as a janitor/maintenance worker; in hospitals, airports and apartment complexes from Minnesota and Idaho to Colorado. While in Idaho he worked with the Salvation Army as a counselor in the drug and alcohol rehabilitation department.
On December 27, 1989 he married Janet Rinker. Roy and Jan had no children together but Roy always said Jan's three children were like his own.
Of his large family of siblings, Roy has one surviving brother, one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law. He has over 50 nieces, nephews, and cousins. Roy is also survived by his wife Jan; three children; Barb (Myran) Dunker, Rusty (Dorene) Reese, and Debra (Byron) Rogers, eleven grandchildren; Phillip Dunker, Chell (Stephanie) Reese, Stacy (Rich) Sager, Christina (Ben) Reese, Daniel Campbell, Darrion Gibbs, Jessica Morehouse, Tiffany Morehouse; two great-grandchildren; Daniel and Malakye Reese.
Roy will be greatly missed by Jan and entire circle of family and friends.
Services were held December 13, 2010 at Brenner Funeral Home. Interment followed at Akron Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to the American Lung Association.
