Wanda Lou Harbison was born on February 8, 1922. She completed her journey of life on Wednesday the 26th of August 2009 at the age of 87 at the Washington County Nursing Home. Lou was born in the small town of Campbell, Texas. Lou was the daughter of Nelia Angeline (Sanders) and Travis Walter Langley. Lou resided in Texas for many years and worked in a funeral home. After retiring from the funeral home she was employed as a Hotel clerk. That is where Lou and Bernie met. She married Bernie Harbison on July 22, 1988. She relocated to Colorado and lived in Akron for the remainder of her life.
She was so well kept, she loved going to the beauty shop and thoroughly enjoyed going out to eat with Bernie and their friends. Frosty's were her favorite treat from Wendy's,
Even on her last days Bernie would ask her if she wanted a frosty and her big blue eyes would light up and she got a smile on her face because she liked them so much.
She treasured all the memories she had from Texas and would tell all her friends and neighbors about where she came from.
She enjoyed cooking for Bernie, she knew all his likes and dislikes. Lou loved Country and Western music. Before her knee surgery she loved to go dancing.
She was so generous, if you went to visit her you never left empty handed. She always had fresh vegetables to give you out of Bernie's garden.
She always loved to see all the little kids in the neighborhood grow up and of course Halloween would come and there was always candy for the little kids. She treated them all like her own little grandchildren.
She and Bernie would set outside on the cool summer evenings and reminisce about the week they had or what the neighbors were doing. She was such a joy to visit with, she would always make you laugh.
Bernie said she had so many doctors appointments because, "The Doctor's loved for her to come to their office just to hear her southern talk and the stories she had to tell them to make them laugh."
She had a great love for animals, especially her cat "Sunshine". Cats were Lou's pride and joy, she loved all of them in the neighborhood. She always had an inside cat and there were several outside cats she would feed even though they weren't hers.
Lou's interests included bowling, sewing, fishing and taking trips.
Lou is survived by her husband, Bernie; brother, James B. Langley and wife Helen of Texas; brothers-in-law, Dale E. Harbison of Oklahoma and Donald Harbison of Louisiana; a nephew, J.D. Langley and family and many nieces.
Lou was preceded in death by her Parents Travis and Nelia Langley, first husband Leonard Mann, brothers Exter Ray Langley and Noel Lynn Langley: and brother- in –law Lavern Harbison.
