Wayne Nolan Sweger, Sr. left us on September 22, 2024.

He was born on February 20, 1939 in Penbrook, Pennsylvania to Mark and Catherine (Lotz) Sweger.

Mr. Sweger managed many hotels and resorts all over the United States, including places like Penn Harris Motel in Camp Hill and State College, PA; Liverpool, NY; Waterbury, CT; Townsend, MD; Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA; Raleigh, NC; Albany, NY; West Palm Beach, FL; Columbus, OH; Charleston, SC; and Grand Junction; CO.  He retired working for Phil Anshutz at the Pinnacle Club in Denver, CO.

He settled down with his son Wayne Jr. in Akron, a wonderful small town on the northeastern plains of Colorado.  He was very close to his only surviving family – Wayne Jr., son Jason, daughter-in-law Amy, and grandson Alexander.

He loved the game of golf, and taught both his sons to play well, and to respect and love the game.  Dad, Wayne, and Jason played some great courses like Kiawah Island Ocean Course, Pinehurst No. 2, and his favorite, Hershey Country Club.
