Yvonne Fae McCaleb, 84, of Anton, Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at UCHealth Hospital in Greeley, Colorado. She was born on February 6, 1941, in Flagler, Colorado, to Ruth and Meldon Chubbuck. She was the beloved sister to Don, Jerry, and Sharron.
Yvonne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and community member. She married her high school sweetheart, Edwin "Corky" Cockreham, on May 22, 1960, and together they had six children: Valerie, Victor, Vinnette, Vanice, Velvet, and David. After Corky's passing, Yvonne found love again and married Rob McCaleb on May 18, 2008.
She is survived by her husband, Rob McCaleb; her brother, Don Chubbuck (Deloris); her children, Valerie Boone (Eric), Victor Cockreham (Gayle), Vinnette Cockreham, Vanice Cockreham, Velvet Bradley (Rick), and David Cockreham; her step-children, David McCaleb (Kelly), Mike McCaleb (Julie), and Chad McCaleb; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Yvonne's life was deeply rooted in faith and family. She spent many years teaching Sunday School at Seibert United Methodist Church and was a dedicated member of Bethel Union Church in Anton, where she continued to serve as a faithful congregant. Her passion for teaching and nurturing young hearts was evident in her years of involvement in church activities, Bible studies, and teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
A lifelong farm wife, Yvonne embraced her role with grace and dedication, balancing the demands of raising her children with the hard work. She was also an active leader in the local 4-H community, guiding and mentoring many young people through the years.
Yvonne's interests were as diverse as her many talents. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and crochet, and was known for her love of animals, often taking in and caring for strays and orphaned animals. She was also a graduate of the Bob Ross School of Painting and loved expressing herself creatively through art.
A natural adventurer, Yvonne was a baton twirler and played clarinet in her youth and carried that same sense of joy and curiosity into adulthood. Whether skating or climbing high on farm buildings, and enjoyed horseback riding with her childhood girl friends, she approached life with a zest for living that was contagious to all who knew her.
Yvonne was also a skilled short-order cook and worked for many years outside the home in this role, always ready to offer a helping hand to those in need. She was a constant chauffeur to her children, no matter the distance or the time required to attend various events, and her caring nature extended to every corner of her life.
Her unwavering love for her family and her faith was the foundation of everything she did, and her presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Bethel Union Church in Anton, CO. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at the Arriba Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Union Church.
Yvonne's family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their support, love, and prayers during this time.
